Homework #10

I think that ferderalism is a good idea because it has more power that the others. It also controls on what types of laws that the state plans. Its important to know who is the more powerful because if everyone has power, then no one would go anywhere. The state would just create new laws or even a government on their own. This is why ferderalism is a good idea.

Homework #9

The reason why the U.S constitution was needed is probably because they needed to maintain the government in control. I think that before the U.S constitution, the government was probably a mess. the reason why is because people did whatever they wanted but got out of control. The only solution that they had is to create a constitution in order to control the government and what they do. That's the only reason why they U.S needed a constitution.

Homework #8

In my opinion, Independence was the only option for colonist because first of all, the government wasn't helping out the people. The government created problems for the people. For example, the stamp act in which every item that was bought had to have a stamp on it and the tea act in which the government added tax to tea. Also lets not forget about the Boston Massacre in which the soldiers shoot a crowd of people. I think that the colonist would not be able to work things out with the king because the king might not let them and might want more power over the people. This is why Independence was the only option for colonist.

Homework #7

I think that a direct democracy may not always work in the United States because people are the ones that make the decision on what they want in their Government to do. Some of the decisions that people make are not always suitable for others. In my opinion, I think that representative democracy is actually working in the United States because so far, its maintaining the control of society and what the people want in the government. If the United Sates was a direct democracy, the reaction of the people would be devastated because some of the decision that the government takes are either good or bad for society. The government might have more power in which people would be helpless.The people government for me is the one in which we have today.The reason why is because its best to hear different ideas from other people in order to live a better life. Its not always perfect but it helps us live society in which people have different opinions. Also that it maintains the government in balance. This is what i think about democracy

Title of Article: Poll suggests opportunities for both parties

This article is about a poll that was taken in which both the Democratic and Republican party have an advantage on obtaining power. They talk about how voters can change to the Republican party because of Obama not being able to create new jobs or solve the nation's problem. On the other hand, The same thing goes with the Democrats. They have better ideas to solve the countries problem in which the people supports the president's proposal to let tax cuts to expire for the rich American. The worse part is that 63 percent disagree with the Democrats and 73 percent disagees with the Republicans. Also that more people disagree with the ideas of the Republicans. In my opinion, people in the contry don't really know which party to vote for. If these continues, the problem that we are facing with the economy will remain the same and it will get worse. The only thing that both parties are doing in nothing because they're going back and forth with ideas but it always turns into a bad idea for the county. this is what i think about the article.

Homework # 6

The reason why people in Locke's world agree to a social contract is because its better to live in a world where you have your natural right when you are born. Its better off to create a government in which the people have power instead of one person having the power to control society. The reason why is because people have the right to do anything in order to run the govenment. It also will create a government in which it can mantain stable. This is why peolpe in Locke's world agree to a social contract.

Homework #4

In society,the government is the only things that has power to control the country. Without the government, society that we live in today would be in total chaos.The reason why people obey laws is because they don't want to cause trouble or destroy society. Some laws help the way people live for example, there are laws that give rights to people and there are laws that protect people from doing stupid stuff like drunk driving or making kids drink alcohol at an early age. If i were to change something in todays government, I would probably take off tax so that people won't waste alot of money for a regular item.
So far, the government is doing okay in controlling society. For some reason, I kind of don't trust the government because they say things that they would do but never actually do it. The government create false hope for people in society. For Example, President Obama said that he would create a reform for immigrants that live in the U.S., but the only thing that he has done so far is nothing.This is why i don't trust the government.
